What would be the point of manufacturing vintage guard replacements if the cut was not exact? Lashing studied many vintage guards, bodies and importantly, their aluminum shields'. Obviously, the old guard examples had shrunk and warped so having the matching body and shield specimens was very important. The result being a cut that will fall onto vintage strats perfectly. Three styles were made. The 59-62, the one moved screw hole that happened late '63 and lasted to '65, and ...we didn't forget the oddball guards of '59. Early in the switch from one ply to 3 ply pickguards there were some oddball 10 hole guards which are today very rare thus valuable. For these we cut the "screwless" pattern. Simply a guard with no pickguard screws so the end user can match to whatever they would like. All cuts have been made to fit vintage bodies. They will fit modern bodies too but we concentrated on exact replacement for VINTAGE bodies. As a sidenote - notice the glossy surface both front and back.
