Why is Brazilian Rosewood so unique? Where it grows!

Found only in the Atlantic Coastal forests of Brazil. Growing under a range of climatic conditions, Dalbergia Nigra, is scattered from southern Bahia to Minas Gerais. Looking at an atlas, it is quite clear the coastal areas of Brazil present a unique environment. The environment wood is grown has every impact on the final outcome. The same species could be planted elsewhere but the minerals, earth, water ... it would grow into a very different tree. The Brazilian coastline is rather massive thus you can expect variations in the Dalbergia Nigra from various forests and tree to tree (denser forests have more competition for nutrients). This would explain the vast difference in color as well as variances to the smell. Every part of our earth leaves unique DNA in its trees. Environment is everything. Brazilian Atlantic Coastal forests are also home to wildlife found nowhere else on the planet. Brazilians have suggested the growth areas may be more scattered than published data suggests, but in small quantity.
